Choose a Variety of Foods Everyday Poster

After being asked a number of times to make a poster available following a similar food plate being used in the popular Be Healthy; Be Active booklet, nutritionists at Nestlé have worked closely with the New Zealand Nutrition Foundation and the Millennium Institute of Sport & Health to provide this poster.

The poster focuses on the food groups that should be eaten on a daily basis, giving common food examples and showing the number of serves to aim for.

As a guide to serve sizes; use the size of a closed fist to represent a piece of fruit, vegetables or carbohydrates. Use the palm of your hand to represent a serve of meat. A serve size of dairy is a glass of milk, a pottle of yoghurt or match-box sized piece of cheese. To estimate serve sizes for children, use their hand size as an approximate guide.
