Veronique Cremades, Country Manager & CEO, Nestlé New Zealand
In New Zealand, putting something back into the community is part of our Kiwi character. So Community engagement through Creating Shared Value is our Global Corporate way of doing business. It is locally embedded into Nestlé New Zealand's DNA.
Our primary community focus is the nutrition area where numerous activities such as MILO grassroots sport support, the Millennium Institute of Sport & Health initiatives and Be Healthy Be Active school program are some examples of our local contribution to Nestlé Global Healthy Kids program.
Our sense of community support is also demonstrated daily, in the way we care for our employees where Safety & Health always comes first; in our ongoing support to numerous local charities such as Cure Kids, Kidz First, Christmas Box, City Mission and Salvation Army, but also during exceptional events that have impacted recently on our country: the Pike River mine disaster, the Christchurch earthquakes and the Rena disaster.
2012, is the launch of a new exciting project “Cook for Life” , a nutritional & leadership program providing essential nutrition education and developing cooking skills for our South Auckland Pacific Island & Maori Communites, the largest in New Zealand.
Our Leadership Team is very proud of the economic and social contribution that Nestlé makes to local communities in New Zealand, as we take our responsibilities beyond our manufacturing environmental best practices and ethical procurement strategy very seriously.
