Paerata Hall Restoration

The Paerata hall has been servicing the Paerata community as early as World War II. Groups such as the local school, daycare and the knitting group benefit from use of the hall, and it is the heart of this small community. They all have a passion for the hall, and want their children to enjoy the community life, and once again would like the Paerata hall to be the focal point of this small rural community. Approx 100-150 families reside in the area, and they also cover areas such as Karaka, Patumohoe and Pukekohe East. The Paerata Hall is a work in progress for this small community, and the first step in this restoration is the painting of the inside of the hall. The NESCAFÉ team will be at the Paerata Hall on Saturday 29 November from 9am – 10:30am

Brightwater School Swimming Pool Upgrade

Built in 1953, the school pool has served Nelson's Brightwater community well. Over summer, the local families get to use the pool with a very organised rostered system of supervision and ongoing cleaning. With the support of the parents of the school, the school board, The Laura Hill Trust, Canterbury Community Trust, the Community Trust and now NESCAFÉ - it's time for an upgrade of the changing rooms. The official opening will be at 2pm on the 12th of September 2008. All the pupils are getting dressed up for a day of celebration and NESCAFÉ’S TogetherNES™ team will be on-the-ground making sure it all goes smoothly, and that everyone gets to have their favourite cuppa too! NESCAFÉ is thrilled to help the Brightwater community enjoy even more community spirit this summer and for years to come.

Operation Culture Club

The morning of Saturday 5 July saw the cloudy skies clear and Pedersen Place in Bucklands Beach, East Auckland come alive with the happiness of neighbours. From a young child’s idea 3 years ago, to a warm, fun occasion today – West Glade Crescent will never be the same again as neighbours already plan their next party!

Whitby Gathering

In a Porirua cul-de-sac on 20 September neighbours are hosting a friendly sausage sizzle along with hot cups of NESCAFÉ to get to know each other better. After reading about TogetherNES™ the organiser realised her street would benefit from a get-together and a chance to put names to familiar faces. She describes her inspiration coming from a significant event. “We had been living in the street for one year but only knew the name of one neighbour and were just on nodding terms with a few others. A fire in the house opposite (when I realised I didn’t know the names of the people living there) made me motivated to meet more locals,” she said.

French Café

On 28 September in a Hamilton suburb the whole neighbourhood will enjoy some French flare in their street. Neighbours will sit, chat and enjoy a cup of NESCAFÉ thanks to the funding request of one neighbour to set up her own street’s French Café. The neighbours of this street usually throw a Summer BBQ but with the help of TogetherNES™ will be able to brighten up their winter. “My daughter lives in France and I wanted to bring a touch of colour and atmosphere to our quiet little street while we get to know each other better,” says the organiser.
