Christmas is known as the season for giving and new research reveals that at Christmas our cats play an even more important role as members of our family, with a whopping 86% of Kiwi’s planning to include their cats in Christmas festivities.
Independently commissioned by Fancy Feast to explore the unique bond we share with our cats, the research uncovers that more than three quarters (78%) of cat owners would feel guilty about leaving their pets out of the Christmas celebrations.
So just how do Kiwi cat owners plan to share the love this Christmas? 96% plan on feeding their cats a special Christmas treat, 76% plan to buy them a new toy to play with on Christmas morning and some cat-loving Kiwis are even planning to capture the cheer by dressing their feline for a festive photoshoot at home.
Showcasing just how in-tune Kiwi cat owners feel they are with their pets, nearly two thirds (64%) said they would instinctively know if their cat felt left out of their Christmas celebrations.
