EMBARGO until 18th March 2026, Auckland NZ: Cat lovers can now indulge like their feline friends, with award‑winning French pastry chef Benjamin Chevré creating a decadent, limited‑time dessert inspired by the patented pyramid packaging design, layered textures and “reveal” effect of the new FANCY FEAST Gems range.
The collaboration brings the design and craftsmanship of FANCY FEAST Gems into a shared experience for Kiwi cat lovers together with their cats. While FANCY FEAST Gems have been crafted specifically for cats, the partnership sees Benjamin Chevré create an elegant dessert inspired by the product’s distinctive pyramid shape, layered textures and reveal effect - offering cat lovers their own moment of luxury to enjoy alongside their cats at mealtime.
The dessert is a piece of culinary perfection comprising of a dark chocolate mousse, covered in dark cocoa nappage, sitting on a crisp biscuit streusel topped with a delectable caramel jelly dome.
Benjamin Chevré, says of the design “When we saw the design of FANCY FEAST Gems, the shape and layering immediately stood out. There was a beautiful sense of theatre and elegance. It reminded us of the Louvre Pyramid in Paris - architectural, iconic, and timeless. We wanted that sense of structure, symmetry, and modern luxury into a dessert - a pyramid of chocolate mousse crowned with a jewel-like caramel dome.”
FANCY FEAST Gems are delicate mousse pâtés topped with a savoury gravy, crafted to elevate everyday mealtimes for cats. Developed through years of Purina research, each serving features a patented pyramid shape - the first and only wet cat food of its kind in New Zealand. This unique form increases the gravy-coated surface area cats love, while the soft mousse texture makes it easy to lap or bite into.

For a limited time from 19–29 March, the FANCY FEAST Gems–inspired dessert will be available to purchase in-store across Little French Pastry Cafe, with each dessert purchase including a complimentary FANCY FEAST Gems product for customers’ cats.
FANCY FEAST Gems are 100% complete and balanced for adult cats. Available in delicate mousse paté recipes including beef, chicken, tuna or salmon, each topped with signature savoury gravy.
